Memories and Metal is a brand built upon the idea of making your memories last forever. We want the planet to last forever too, so we’re doing everything we can to protect it. Our promise is to reduce or eliminate our environmental impact wherever we can, so that you can wear your M&M jewellery proudly, knowing that you’ve made a sustainable purchase.

Our workshop is powered by carbon-conscious, green energy, so we know that we’re producing your orders as sustainably as we possibly can. Inevitably, there will be a small amount of environmental impact from our production processes, regardless of the steps we take to avoid it. To mitigate this, we’ve partnered with Ecologi to plant a tree to offset the carbon emissions of every single order that we produce. Reforestation is one of the most effective ways that we can mitigate the impact of carbon emissions. It’s a form of carbon sequestration, which means that the new trees absorb excess carbon dioxide as they grow, so the carbon becomes fixed within their trunks and leaves. Reforestation has lots of other benefits, too: it’s great for reducing soil erosion, as the tree roots hold the ground together and stop the soil from breaking apart; it provides vital habitats for animals and wildlife, many of which are endangered; it helps to naturally filter drinking water through tree roots; and it helps to reduce natural disasters like floods and landslides by slowing down the absorption of water into the soil.

We’re really proud of our contribution to reforestation, so we want you to know that every order you place makes a difference.

When you receive your order, we want to make sure that it looks and feels special. However, we don’t want our packaging to cause damage to the planet. That’s why we will always look for new and innovative ways to package our orders sustainably, wherever possible.

Our packaging is almost entirely plastic-free, and most of it is fully biodegradable/recyclable. The only remaining plastic within our packaging is the dots of glue that we use to fix our necklaces to their boxes, to make sure that they stay put during their journey to you. We are working hard to find a replacement for these glue dots that works as well as the ones we use now. We’re looking forward to becoming plastic-free as soon as possible, and we’ll let you know as soon as we achieve this goal.
